Paul Lewis

Born of a musical family in Brighton, the young Paul Lewis chose to spend his teenage years working for music publishers rather than attending music college. He embarked, at the age of only twenty, upon a forty-four year career composing prolifically for TV, scoring everything from adult drama such as Arthur of the Britons and The Prisoner of Zenda, to children’s drama such as Swallows and Amazons Forever and Woof!, by way of Benny Hill and Monty Python.

Following his decision to focus more on his concert music as opposed to that composed for media productions, Paul has amassed a wealth of published concert works, all of them tonal and melodic and most of them inspired by people and places dear to him.

In recent years he has received commissions from and conducted concerts of his own music in New Zealand, America, France and Turkey. He also composes cabaret songs for his soprano wife and is her piano accompanist in her one-woman shows.

His inclusion on Sync Music’s composer roster marks Paul’s return to composition for media production. If you have a project you would like Paul to consider please drop us a line or Submit a Brief
