TV show One Tree Hill recently featured his song ’Loving You’, propelling it to the Top 20 on the iTunes Folk charts in 3 countries. The show also featured ’As It Must Be’ in April. Joey recently returned from his 3rd trip to the UK in as many months on the heels of some key ad placements and BBC1 radio play there for ’Let You Go’ and ’Honest Man’.
He donated his song ’California’ to UNICEF for use in their television commercials promoting their TAP Project which provided drinking water to the world’s poorest children. ’California’ subsequently garnered airplay on LA’s 103.1FM and is currently in rotation on Sirius Radio’s The Coffee House station. ’California’ is also the soundtrack to a very moving short documentary on the anti-Prop 8 protests here in Los Angeles.
The little indie movie BELLA that came from nowhere to win the Toronto International Film Festival was a hit in theatres and isout on DVD. The soundtrack, like the film,features two of his songs, ’No One Else Like You’ and ’Light On’ strategically placed during some particularly heart-wrenching scenes.
This past year was full of touring, including a West Coast tour, a cross-country U.S. tour, 3 trips to the UK, a handful of shows in Sweden, and countless shows around Southern California.
