Winner of the MUSIMAGEN award for Best Original Score for the film 5 MILLION (dir. Victor Diaz Samoza) at the Radiocity Film Festival, Valencia and The World Soundtrack Awards 2009 Best Young European Film Composer, Christopher Slaski, who works out of his studios in London and Madrid, is becoming increasingly known for his work both in the UK and abroad.
Part of his education was spent in Italy, where he fulfilled a life-long dream, to meet and study with Ennio Morricone however his musical training at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music allowed him to develop the skills for creating highly sophisticated scores and his practical experience in conducting both orchestras and choirs and in production enables him to maintain a strong musical identity through the composition and recording to the mixing and dubbing processes. Working with cutting edge technologies and combining newly created sounds with live recordings give his music a fresh and contemporary quality.
Feature film scores include Kevin Spacey’s Beyond The Sea starring Kate Bosworth, Bob Hoskins and Greta Scacci, the art-house film The Pianotuner Of Earthquakes, featuring Assumpta Serna and directed by the Quay Brothers and produced by Terry GilIiam, the Spanish romantic-comedy Semen Una Historia de Amor and the thriller Proyecto Dos. Forthcoming collaborations include Goya-winning writer director David Planell , who recently won Best Screenplay at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
